Can i write a command the will summon arrow in an area relative to a player?

/execute ~ ~ ~ @p summon arrow ~ ~2 ~

or

/execute @p ~ ~ ~ summon arrow ~ ~2 ~

Note: This will only work in post 1.8 or in a 1.8 snapshot. To use the snapshots, open the launcher, click edit profile, check the box saying "enable snapshots", click yes (snapshots don't actually do anything to the structure of a world unless a block has been removed), make sure that the version to use says "use latest version", click "save profile", then play.
