why won't minecraft open up after it downloads 1.6.2

Question

When i go to open up minecraft after the wight screen finishes downloading and there is  play buton that is usally dark so you can click on it. but it is a lighter color.. but it wont work and the game screen wont apear in the background. what do i do this problem hapened after i downloaded some mod prograns and deleted them

I am having the same problem. On the occasion that i do actually get to the play game screen and i try to open one of my worlds it wont let me.
