How do i set up two players for minecraft pc using the same router

Question

I have two boys who want to play each other on minecraft pc in the same house.  do they each need a separate ($26.95) account to be able to each have full access to all the minecraft pc features?

Yes, they do. There would be no way for them to have separate identities when playing on servers, otherwise.

If they want to play together yes, otherwise no you just need one. And for the playing eachother part what you need to do is have one kid start a world, go to settings, and start a lan game. Then have the other kid go to multiplayer servers and click on his friends world.

yes they do and then when you have two accounts then you can go to oneplayer and hit the ESC button  then hit open to lan
