Perhaps your new computer may have less ram than your laptop. other possible things if you have siblings they may be using the your internet at the same time causing it to lag out and freeze. the server has now put in a anti-lag plugin so the server runs smoother and faster. futhermore this server i think is being runned in Canada so if you live in Austrailia you may have problems with the connection. but sometimes this just me happing for a server-Restart.
