Why can't I open minecraft on my thumbdrive from one computer to the next?

I saved Minecraft to my thumbdrive but it opens up a different  world depending on which computer I am using. What is happening?

worlds are saved to the computer, not the minecraft account, which means that you can only access a world on the computer it was created on unless you copy the world file to the other computer

this also means that unless you are on a different computer account, you will be able to acces any world that any minecraft account has made on that computer
