How do I get past that grey stone in the underground Nether world?

I'm in the Nether world and I can't get to the surface. This stone blocks my path, my diamond pickaxe and TNT cannot clear it. It's texture is grey with specks of light grey and black.

I think you ran into bedrock. Bedrock covers the top and bottom of the Nether. You are most likely in a place that goes from underground to inside a pillar that reaches to the ceiling.

y: 0? There are (possible y: {0 - 10}) some "bedrock" and this is indestructible...

when youre in the nether, you can only use a portal to get back to the overworld, and that grey rock is bedrock, and can not be destroyed in survival mode.
