How can get a good connection on a server that is far away?

I'm playing a on a server that is hosted somewhere in Europe and I live in western Canada. I really like this server because it has all aspects i like about. I frequently get lots of block lag and shooting arrows and such has a slight delay. Is there a way to get a better connection on this server? I am using the mindcrack modpack if it really matters.

No unfortunately the only thing you can do is make sure your FPS is good. The admin can make sure the TPS is always at 20TPS so there is no server lag. The only delay left is the distance which will be like 300 ms from canada to europe.
