minecraft crashes

Question

Hi , I have a minecraft server . My friend built 3 small spheres made of lava  with world editor and then 2 made of water .  There were no promblems till the next day when I opened  the server . When I approached the spheres , minecraft crashed . My friend had the same problem . Now , we can't play on the server because of those spheres . We don't want to delete the map , so what can we do ? (sorry for my bad english )

One possible way to deal with this is to use the world editor and select the chunks which cause the crashing. Then just turn the chunks into air and see what happens. If that does not help load the world into a program like McEdit and delete the chunks with that.
