how do you not suffocate in a wall on minecraft?

My brother got out of bed on minecraft then he started struggling like madly in the wall. it said he had suffocated in a wall. he cant find his way home and every time he gets out of bed he suffocates in a 'wall'? Help!!

Did you figure this out yet? There has to be 2 blocks if space above the bed. Basically the room where the bed is has to be 3 blocks high.

Suffocating is just a glitch where you go inside the wall
