Left click to mine/hit/activate/break (Hold it down when breaking, click quickly for activate/hit)
Right click to place/activate (Click once only. Opens interface for interactable blocks like crafting table)
Don't fall off 4 blocks or more
Eat every few minutes
Don't swim in lava/ suffocate in water
Zombies are BAD
Skeletons are BAD
Creepers are VERY BAD
Spiders are BAD
Endermen are VERY BAD
Silverfish are BAD
Pigs/cows/sheep are GOOD
Wolves/ Irongolems are GOOD unless angered
Ocelots, bats, and Snow golems are NEUTRAL and will not attack you
I won't give away any crafting recipes, but use wood PLANKS for a crafting table.
Don't look up crafting recipes unless you are COMPLETELY stuck. It's more fun that way.
