How do i update my modds to current minecraft version?

Ok so i have a mod on my world that is used with forged. now that the 1.7.4 update is out how do i update my modd to work with this update? please be specific.

Oh i know! well first go to your minecraft luancher and press edit profile and then look down and something will say Use version. So if your mod was like 1.6.4 you click it and you choose 1.6.4 Now just save it and done

if you are using forge the should update automatically
