Help!! I'm lost in my world and can't get home. No map in PC version 1.4.7, why?

make a compass, this will work as long as your home is near your spawn point. otherwise, if you know the coordinates, make sure you have cheats on. do /tp and then the coordinates. you can always make a new house or basically become nomadic and move around until you find it. depending on how far away you are, this could take a very long time but it will most likely get you home. if none of that works, try to find a npc village or retrace your steps. hope this helped :)

easiest way is to hug creepers until you die, then respawn, unless you have made beds along the way and slept in them.

Not so easy way, if you made your home close to where you first spawned your home coordinates should be close to x 0.0, y(ground level), z 0.0.  With F3 on,  move around until you notice the x and z values getting closer to zero and keep going in that direction
